Creativity.
Tough topic, I know, but from your sense of play with the children, your more analytical view of how children approach play and the way you engage in and reflect on grown-up "play," you clearly have a remarkable insight into how people create (and how to channel that) as well as being an incredibly creative person yourself. And just as importantly you seem interested enough in it that writing about it would probably be fun for you rather than a chore. No warranties express or implied, etc.
You want to write about group dynamics in the geek subculture. Because you have already started writing this book, and discuss it at any given opportunity. :)

Cool ideas, I want more!
I think you could write a really interesting and beautiful book for adults where the narrator or one or more of the main characters is a child. You would be great at reminding adults of what it is like to view the world as a not adult human being.
I will have to think more... you seem well suited to write lots of things.. fiction that helps adults remember what childhood is, book on creativity, book that link the seemingly randomn (but surprisingly linked/related) information in your head, idea book for adding joy/fun/creativity into your daily life. You are good at reading group and indiv. dynamics - I could see you creating a fascinating set of vingettes about everday observations... just a few thoughts of the top of my head.
